The Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception will take place on Tuesday, 27 August, from 16.00 to 18.00 at the AMU Rectorate (the main Auditorium of Adam Mickiewicz University), Wieniawskiego 1 Street, in the city centre. What to expect:
- A welcome address from the Chair of the IUAES 2019 Inter-Congress Scientific & Organising Committee, the IUAES Executive Committee, AMU and the City of Poznań authorities
- A keynote lecture “The Seductions of Europe and the Solidarities of Eurasia” by Prof. Chris Hann, Founding Director of the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology
- A musical opening by DagaDana, a band which merges elements of Polish and Ukrainian culture through jazz and electronic music
Following the Opening Ceremony, the Organising Committee invites all IUAES 2019 Inter-Congress Participants to join the Welcome Reception. It will take place from 18.00 to 19.30 at AMU Rectorate. Let’s reunite with the old friends and meet new colleagues, with whom we will be spending the coming days. Wine and snacks will be served.
If you are planning to attend the Opening Ceremony, you can obtain your Inter-Congress badge at the registration desk before the beginning of the event: the badge will let you enjoy free public transport in Poznań (please wear it continuously and show it along with your ID card in the event of an on-board ticket check). The registration desk will be open at the Opening Ceremony venue from 13.00 till 16.00. Don’t be late – the registration closes exactly at 16.00 in order to allow everyone to attend the Opening Ceremony.
Those of you who arrive later can register at the main Inter-Congress venue (Morasko Campus). Registration desk will be open from 8.00 to 16.00 on 28-30 August and from 9.00 to 14.00 on 31 August. This is also the place where you can receive all necessary information and sort out all formal and financial matters (such as payments, certificates etc.).
